Hi Nancy,
My name is Sheridan Collins. I am doing research on people who lived in Hawaii and may have become ill. Your name came up on a google search. I grew up on Kauai and during the 1960's there was major testing of chemicals containing dioxin on the island by UH, US Department of Defense and US Army. Also on the big island. So many people came through there during those years, I don't know where to start. They are all over the globe.

I am in northern New Mexico trying to recover from illness. One tumor so far, and a lot of systemic illness. I looked at your picture and felt inspired by them. You look great!

Nano bano, you have been an inspiration to me since the early 70s when we met and fell into deep, lasting and respectful friendship and kinship, so I thank sisters Marian and Elaine for being part of a family that knows how to rally round a member! Do remember dear Nan, always feel your feelings. When you are ill you are also allowed to let others know. There's no loss of face for being gently honest always. So while I, too, hope that you stay 'strong', I'm here to listen and try to respond when you're not feeling that way. I love you from the bottom of my heart. Trader Joe's rocks, by the way. My hat is off to the team of wonderful folks you work with and work for.

I'm curious if in retrospect you have had a little fatigue for the last several months-I read that often precedes the acute onset. Anyway it is wonderful that you are tolerating the chemo so well and have such a great attitude and so much support. And a huge THANK YOU from our family ( Nancy is my sister) to Trader Joe's for being a good employer and to their fantastic workers who have been so supportive. I bought some nice cotton yarn, in an aqua stripe to make a summer hat.
